ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC® is dark brown granular filter medium that can remove soluble iron and manganese from water. The excessive iron and manganese from groundwater can cause many problems, such as healthy problem, unpleasent odor & color, precipitation on pipe or water reservoir, contamination on washing clothes to cause dull color. ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC® has better performance in high pressure operation because they are made from very hard solid material. ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC® also has active surface layer (2-4%) for long usage time. As an additon, ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC® has also an ability to remove H2s from water, which can cause unpleasent odor. When water containing iron and manganese in ferrous or manganeous
state is passed through a bed of ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC®,
the active surface of ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC®, will catalyze
oxidation reaction of iron and manganese to the ferric and manganic
state. The precipitates are collected on ACTIQUARTZ® & ZEOLAC®
bed. They are then periodically removed by backwashing.
